KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) CEO Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin received the Woman Leadership Excellence Award in conjunction with the Bumiputera Business Excellence Awards (BBEA) 2025 held here tonight.

The special award is presented only to distinguished individuals and companies that have delivered exceptional contributions, not only in business achievements but also in creating significant impact on society, industry and the nation.

The recognition was presented by prominent entrepreneur Tan Sri Syed Mohd Yusof Datuk Syed Nasir and BBEA chairman Datuk Dr Muhammad Iqbal Mohamad, while the ceremony was also attended by Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir.

Meanwhile, Nur-ul Afida, when met after the event, dedicated the recognition to the entire Bernama staff, saying the success was the result of their support and teamwork.

“So I hope this recognition also serves as inspiration for Bernama’s leadership to continue our excellence in delivering the best news coverage for the media,” she said.

Having spent four decades in journalism, she also described the award received today as a morale boost for her to continue contributing in her career.

“I hope I can provide even better service for Bernama and at the same time help our organisation to continue advancing, grow further, and remain relevant in the national media industry,” she said.

Nur-ul Afida was appointed Bernama CEO in 2024 and has extensive experience in journalism, having held several key positions at Bernama, including as Editor-in-Chief.

The daughter of the late veteran journalist, AR Kamaludin, began her career as a reporter at Harian Nasional before joining Bernama in January 1985 as a cadet journalist.
