KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia was today briefed on the latest flood situation, coastal erosion conditions and the status of flood mitigation projects nationwide.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s Facebook page, the briefing was delivered by Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) director-general Datuk Mohamad Radzi Abdul Talib at Istana Negara.
Johor DID director Muhammad Zaki Mashud was also in attendance.
It added that Sultan Ibrahim further consented to the use of his land for the development of a flood retention pond under the Sungai Johor Flood Mitigation Project.
His Majesty emphasised that safeguarding the people’s safety and welfare must remain the foremost priority in managing disasters.
