PUTRAJAYA, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- Thousands are expected to flock to Dataran Putrajaya as the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku programme returns for the second day, offering a comprehensive line-up of government services, exhibitions, a national policy forum, and community activities.
Starting from 9 am, today’s main highlight is the National Convention on Public Service Reform Agenda (ARPA) at the Tun Azizan Zainul Abidin Auditorium, to take a closer look at efforts to streamline bureaucracy, reform the health and education sectors, and improve government communication so it is more effective for the public.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar will officiate the forum at 9.30 am, during which he is also expected to launch the ILTIZAM Circular, the Public Service Performance Index (I-PPA), the ARPA module, and the MALAYSIA MERDEKA book.
More than 30 ministries and agencies offer on-site services at their booths, allowing visitors to check their eligibility for assistance, register for jobs, undergo health screenings and access a range of services.
Visitors will also be treated to a full day of cultural shows, taranum (the melodic art of reciting the Quran) contest, singing performances and community activities, as well as displays of security and military assets.
The Pesta Rasa @ Selera Malaysia gives visitors the opportunity to savour a variety of local dishes while supporting food entrepreneurs.
With crowds expected to grow, visitors are encouraged to use public transport or the shuttle buses provided to ease congestion.
The three-day programme, which kicked off yesterday, features over 300 public service touchpoints, a career fair, interactive exhibitions, family entertainment and a range of special offers for visitors.
The nationwide programme, organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), is expected to attract around 300,000 visitors. It runs from 9 am to 10 pm (Friday and Saturday), and from 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the closing ceremony at 11 am tomorrow.
Building upon the impact of the One Year with the MADANI Government and Two Years with the MADANI Government programmes, Rancakkan MADANI represents the tradition of reporting government achievements directly to the people on an annual basis.
