Cabinet Reshuffle: Seven Ministers, Eight Deputy Ministers To Take Oath Today

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- A total of seven ministers and eight deputy ministers will take their oaths of office before His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia today, following a Cabinet reshuffle under the MADANI Government.

The Presentation of Appointment Letters and Swearing-in Ceremony is expected to take place this morning at Istana Negara.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, announced the appointment of new ministers and deputy ministers, as well as the reshuffling of several portfolios, following several vacancies within the MADANI Government Cabinet and the need for adjustments.

Among the changes, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, the former Minister of Plantation and Commodities, has been appointed as the new Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, while, Hannah Yeoh, previously the Minister of Youth and Sports, has been appointed as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories).

The reshuffle also saw six deputy ministers and one new face promoted to full ministerial positions, including Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, who has been appointed Minister of Economy.

Additionally, Sungai Petani Member of Parliament Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari has been appointed as the new Minister of Youth and Sports.
