In his speech, Nanta described the media as a strategic partner to the ministry, helping to communicate government policies, initiatives, and achievements to the public.
He noted that the primary objective of the event is to encourage high-quality journalistic content regarding the construction industry, including issues such as construction site safety, environmental sustainability, the adoption of new technologies, and other aspects contributing to the industry's sustainable development.
"The media plays a very strategic role in supporting the implementation of policies and the direction of the construction sector as outlined by KKR and CIDB Malaysia. Through accurate, balanced, and responsible reporting, the media helps ensure that policies, regulations, and government initiatives are clearly understood by industry players and the general public," he said.
Nanta added that the 8th edition of the CIDB Construction Media Awards 2025 serves as an important platform to honour media practitioners who have raised construction industry issues professionally and with impact. He stated that the recognition is a mark of respect for the media's effort, integrity, and commitment to delivering information to the community.
During the ceremony, approximately 40 media practitioners received awards out of 187 entries submitted across all categories.
