KULAI, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (SATSSB) has enhanced its emergency preparedness with the official handover of another Rosenbauer Panther 6x6 PA146 Ultra Large Foam Tender (ULFT) at the Airport Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) Station from Rosenbauer International AG, Austria.
Delivered on Nov 7, the new Panther 6x6 features Rosenbauer RM80C technology, high-capacity water and foam storage, improved acceleration, and manoeuvrability suitable for airfield operations.
SATSSB chief executive officer Kennedy Ayu, in a statement today, said the addition of the new Rosenbauer Panther 6x6 strengthens the group’s readiness and ensures the highest levels of emergency response.
“Our achievements, including the 5-star CGSO security rating and the excellent compliance level for our Certificate of Aerodrome (COA), demonstrate the hard work and dedication of our team members. These accomplishments reinforce our commitment to providing a secure, reliable, and world-class airport facility offering stability and trust to our stakeholders,” he said.
The unit joins SATSSB’s first Panther 6x6 acquired in 2018, the first High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET)-equipped ARFF vehicle in Malaysia.
With this addition, SATSSB now operates four ULFTs with a total of 35,000 litres of water and 4,200 litres of foam storage, strengthening the airport’s firefighting capacity and emergency readiness.
The airport also recently renewed its COA for three years until Jan 31, 2028, achieving a compliance score of 96.05 per cent from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
Kennedy added that SATSSB will continue to maintain a strong safety culture as the airport prepares for future growth in passenger movements, cargo demand, and regional connectivity.
