NILAI, Dec 21 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan Fest 2025 (NS Fest) underscores the state government’s continued commitment to driving consistent and sustainable economic growth, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said.
He said this year’s NS Fest is targeting 1.4 million visitors, following an encouraging turnout of 1.1 million visitors last year, with sales reaching RM4.3 million.
For the first time, he said the festival is being held over 12 days starting yesterday, bringing together the participation of local entrepreneurs, the agro-food sector, small and medium industries (SMIs), retail businesses as well as state tourism promotion.
“This festival also serves as an economic ‘magnet’ that not only attracts participation from the people of this state, but also visitors from other states, thereby stimulating business activity, entrepreneurship and local tourism,” he said at the festival’s opening ceremony at Dataran Nilai here last night.
Aminuddin said the festival is more than just an annual event, but a strategic platform to strengthen the state’s future economic ecosystem through the empowerment of key sectors, the development of high-value-added upstream and downstream industries, and the expansion of a smart tourism ecosystem.
He said NS Fest 2025 also features various high-impact strategic segments that cater to all levels of society, while opening up new collaboration opportunities in the economic, entrepreneurial and creative industries sectors.
“The 12-day duration, compared with previous editions, is expected to provide greater opportunities for traders and local entrepreneurs to generate income and expand the market reach of their products,” he said, adding that NS Fest has grown into an iconic state event that brings together diverse economic, cultural and entrepreneurial sectors.
