KUANTAN, Dec 24 (Bernama) -- Pahang has fully recovered from the floods after all 79 victims from 27 families placed in relief centres (PPS) in the state were allowed to return home today.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, the PPS at Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Semangat, Kuantan, and Balai Raya Kampung Baru Pertanian, Maran, which had been in operation since Dec 17, were closed at 2.00 pm and 1.30 pm respectively.
Meanwhile, the centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pulau Manis, Pekan, which had been operating since Dec 18, was closed at 9.00 am today.
The infobanjir website reported that as of 4.00 pm today, the water levels of Sungai Pahang at Paloh Hinai, Pekan, and Sungai Keratong at Kampung Rekoh, Rompin, had exceeded the danger level.
Several districts in Pahang were hit by floods last week due to continuous heavy rain, resulting in more than 13,000 victims being evacuated to PPS.
