5.1-Magnitude Quake Hits South Sandwich Islands Region -- USGS

BEIJING, Jan 4 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 1035 GMT on Sunday, the United States (US) Geological Survey said, reported Xinhua.

The epicentre, with a depth of 35.0 km, was initially determined to be at a latitude of 58.74 degrees south and at a longitude of 25.27 degrees west.
