5.5-Magnitude Quake Hits Northern Peru -- GFZ

BEIJING, Jan 8 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted northern Peru at 05:17:44 GMT on Thursday, said the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, reported Xinhua.

The epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 kilometres, was initially determined to be at a latitude of 4.03 degrees south and a longitude of 77.70 degrees west.
