KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) have announced the signing of two new import players to bolster their squad for the remainder of the 2025/2026 Super League season and the upcoming Malaysia Cup.
Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) chief executive officer Sheikh Farouk Sheikh Mohamed Al-Bajrai announced that Tajikstan winger Mabatshoev Shervoni, 26, and his compatriot, midfielder Ehsoni Panshanbe, 27, signed one-year contracts with the team.
"Shervoni, who has netted 13 goals in 39 appearances for Regar TadAZ FC, will wear the number 88 jersey, while Panshanbe replaces Nurillo Tukhtasinov, who has returned to Uzbekistan.
"TFC is proud to secure these two talented players, both of whom are mainstays of the Tajikistan national team, during this second transfer window of the 2025/2026 Malaysia League," he said in a statement today.
Sheikh Farouk expressed hope that their arrival would steady the squad and arrest the team's recent decline in form, and that their international experience would boost TFC’s push for a top-four finish in this season’s Super League.
TFC is currently fifth in the league standings, behind Selangor FC, with 21 points from 14 matches.
Last month, TFC parted ways with head coach Badrul Afzan Razali after a run of inconsistent results in the FA Cup and Super League, while Brazilian winger Gabriel Silva saw his contract cut short after failing to impress.
