GEORGE TOWN, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has been described as a prudent and humble leader who is efficient in executing policies, particularly those involving infrastructure development in Penang.

Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Steven Sim said that over the past two years, Chow has initiated several large-scale infrastructure projects described as "game changers" for the Pearl of the Orient, valued at nearly RM30 billion.

Sim noted that the Batu Kawan Member of Parliament's capability is not limited to mere planning or announcements, but rather emphasises the actual implementation of these projects.

“Chow is known as a highly prudent and humble leader, but to me, he is also an extremely efficient policy executor. A great leader doesn't need to resort to insults, expletive, or make a lot of noise. A great leader is an executor of his or her words. Keep Going, CM,” said Sim, who is also the Penang DAP Chairman, in a Facebook post today.

Previously, Chow informed that a total of 122 projects are planned for implementation in Penang in 2026 and these encompass public infrastructure, community facilities, and special economic projects, including the Juru-Sungai Dua (JSD) Elevated Highway Project, the Mutiara Line Light Rail Transit (LRT), and the expansion of the Penang International Airport (PIA).

Furthermore, the implementation of strategic projects such as the Penang IC Design and Digital Park, Penang Chip Design Academy, and the Silicon Research and Incubation Space is expected to create more high-income job opportunities and attract investments from global technology firms.
