ISKANDAR PUTERI, Jan 24 (Bernama) -- Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) head coach Xisco Munoz admitted that his team’s performance in their narrow 1-0 victory over PDRM FC during the Malaysia Cup round of 16 second-leg match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium tonight was not their best.
The Southern Tigers secured their slot in the quarter-finals with a dominant 11-1 aggregate score and is set to face Melaka FC in an encounter early next month.
Munoz noted that while JDT created numerous scoring opportunities, the overall performance level made it difficult for them to fully control the game and find the back of the net consistently.
"I don't think this was our best night. There are still many things we can improve on, both in terms of attack and defense.
"Tonight, we observed many important aspects, and one of our main tasks is to learn from our mistakes—specifically regarding attitude, character, and behavior," he said during the post-match press conference.
Regarding preparations for the quarter-finals, Munoz emphasized that his team must remain focused despite the massive aggregate win over PDRM FC.
Meanwhile, PDRM FC Assistant Head Coach Eddy Gapil praised his team's defensive discipline for restricting JDT to only one goal in the return leg.
