KUSKOP: EPMS Monitors Entrepreneur Funding, Ensures Aid Reaches Target

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- The Entrepreneurship Programme Monitoring System (EPMS) provides a centralised platform to oversee all government funding channelled to agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP).

Deputy Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin said the internally developed system enabled the ministry to assess programme outcomes and identify gaps in aid access.

“We do not want any aid channelled to fail in achieving its target. We want it to have maximum impact and directly increase the income of entrepreneurs.

“The EPMS system provides the best medium to ensure that all programmes and initiatives implemented under KUSKOP achieve their key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver optimal results, thus boosting the economic growth of entrepreneurs and cooperatives in our country,” he said.

He said this in response to a question from Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan (BN-Kuala Pilah) on the effectiveness of EPMS in developing entrepreneurs during a question-and-answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today.

Responding to a supplementary question from Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi (PN-Kuala Langat) on entrepreneurs receiving multiple funding, Mohamad said the ministry did not restrict such applications and was developing a separate system to monitor entrepreneurs’ performance more systematically.

Meanwhile, he said that, based on the SME Integrated Plan of Action (SMEIPA) 2025 Report, a total of 349 entrepreneurship and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) development programmes had been implemented through the involvement of 15 ministries, 56 agencies and 13 state governments, with a total allocation of RM30.34 billion benefiting 613,511 MSMEs.

Mohamad said this in reply to Adnan's original question on the proposal to introduce a one-stop platform or integrated database to coordinate information on aid recipients and entrepreneurship programmes between agencies, in order to avoid duplication and improve the efficiency of aid delivery.
