MELAKA, Feb 8 (Bernama) — The Melaka Tengah Wellness Hub in Alai officially opened on Jan 4 as a one-stop centre for health education, basic screening, counselling and community programmes.

State Health Director Dr Ruzita Mustaffa said it is the second facility of its kind in the state, following the Alor Gajah Wellness Hub, which opened in 2014.

She said the RM800,000 hub is equipped with a gymnasium, live and recording studios, a Malaysian Community Health Agent (MyCHAMPION) operations room, a Green and Creative Zone, as well as a health gallery.

“The Wellness Hub is a one-stop centre providing comprehensive, integrated wellness and health services to the local community, with all facilities free of charge.

“The facility supports the Ministry of Health’s shift from ‘sick care’ to ‘health care’, helping individuals develop the skills to manage their own health as well as that of their families and communities,” she told reporters here.

She added that the Melaka Tengah Wellness Hub is open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 7 pm, and urged the public to make full use of the services to improve their health and overall well-being.

Meanwhile, the Alor Gajah Wellness Hub has drawn strong local support, with over 11,000 visitors using its services last year.
