KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) -- Indonesian fashion brands are gaining increasing attention in Malaysia as more labels from the country enter the local market through established retail platforms.
The growing presence of Indonesian fashion was highlighted during the Experience Nusantara Couture event organised by the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with Collabstore.
The event brought together designers, buyers, retailers and industry stakeholders to strengthen ties and promote collaboration within the creative economy ecosystem between Indonesia and Malaysia.

Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Raden Datuk Mohammad Iman Hascarya said the initiative served not only as a fashion showcase but also as a platform to exchange ideas, explore opportunities and build lasting partnerships between industry players from both countries.
“Indonesia’s creative economy continues to grow rapidly, and fashion is one of its most dynamic sectors. Indonesian designers are increasingly recognised globally for their creativity, craftsmanship and contemporary design approach,” he told Bernama here yesterday.
He added that the embassy remains committed to supporting Indonesian businesses and creative industries in expanding their presence in Malaysia by connecting them with local partners, buyers, distributors, retailers and the media.

Meanwhile, Roemah Kebaya Vielga marketing manager Annisa Imran said the brand was excited to have the opportunity to introduce its kebaya designs in Malaysia, which it views as a strategic market for promoting Indonesia’s fashion heritage to regional consumers.
Annisa said the positive response from industry players and fashion enthusiasts in Malaysia has strengthened confidence that traditional designs such as the kebaya remain relevant when presented with a modern touch.
“I hope this opportunity will serve as a stepping stone for our products to grow in Malaysia and eventually enable us to open our own boutique here,” she said.

He said platforms such as Collabstore allow Indonesian brands to showcase the uniqueness of their designs and craftsmanship while strengthening their presence in the regional fashion market.
A total of 11 Indonesian fashion brands were featured at the event, namely Findmeera, Studio Moral, Aeri Luxe, Intresse, Artolouis, Kanzi Collection, Nyaman, Putri Anjani, Kekean, Nyana Nyana and Roemah Kebaya, alongside Indonesian halal beauty brand Wardah.
