Inaugural Kuala Kangsar Panjut Festival Set For March 15-16

KUALA KANGSAR, March 12 (Bernama) -- More than RM30,000 has been allocated for the inaugural Kuala Kangsar Panjut Festival Competition 2026 to be held on March 15 and 16.

The event aims to highlight the panjut tradition, which is closely linked to Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparations.

Perak Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee said the competition will involve 13 villages, seven government departments and agencies and one non-governmental organisation.

He said the contest will have two categories, namely agencies and Village Development and Security Committees.

The winners will receive cash prizes, while the event is also expected to attract tourists and promote Kuala Kangsar and Perak as a tourism destination, he said. 

Loh said participants have begun preparations since earlier this week, with the official results of the competition scheduled to be announced on March 16 at Persisiran Sayong.
