AIC Distributes 1,000 Sahur Packs For Frontliners, Orphans In Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) --  A total of 1,000 packs of sahur food were distributed to frontline workers and orphans across the Klang Valley through the Santuni Sahur with  Anwar Ibrahim Club (AIC programme, in collaboration with the Selangor Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) and Pertubuhan Generasi Penggerak Kebangsaan (GENK) early today.

AIC president Azmi Mohd Nor said the programme aimed to appreciate the sacrifices of frontline workers who continue to carry out their duties with full dedication throughout the Ramadan month, while also assisting those in need.

He said the distribution locations included the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD), the Petaling Jaya Fire and Rescue Station and the University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM).

“This is just our small effort to show appreciation to the frontline workers here, as they are heroes to all of us,” he said when met at PPUM early today.

Azmi, who is also Special Officer to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said that a total of 200 food packs, including Raya cookies, were distributed to police personnel, firefighters and healthcare workers in Petaling Jaya.

The programme then continued to several other locations, including the Cheras District Police Headquarters (IPD), Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD), Ampang Hospital, as well as several police and fire stations around Bandar Tun Razak and Ampang.

He added that the programme concluded with a sahur session with orphans at the Orphanage Welfare House and Asnaf Qaseh Ibu in Taman Lembah Jaya, Ampang.
