KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) -- A total of 100 Members of Parliament have implemented the MADANI Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Grant initiative through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programmes in their respective constituencies.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Chang Lih Kang said the initiative is part of efforts to strengthen STI MADANI by bringing science, technology and innovation closer to the people, not only at the policy level but directly to schools, communities and parliamentary constituencies nationwide.
He said the approach enables more students and communities to gain early exposure to technology, thereby opening up opportunities to nurture talent and interest in science and innovation.
“Through STI MADANI, we are not only building awareness, but also laying the foundation for the development of the nation’s future talent.
“This is an important step to ensure Malaysia continues to produce a generation of innovators, strengthen economic competitiveness and ensure the benefits of technology are enjoyed by all,” he said in a Facebook post.
Chang added that the effort also demonstrates that technological development cannot operate in silos and requires collaboration from all parties to ensure the science and innovation agenda becomes an inclusive and impactful national movement.
STI MADANI is an initiative aimed at fostering a culture of science and technology, encouraging interest in STEM among students and nurturing future innovators, while bringing science and technology closer to the people.
