KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) -- The Infaq Ramadan Programme, organised by the Pilgrims’ Fund Board (Tabung Haji - TH) in collaboration with TH mosques and suraus, raised more than RM270,000 in donations and distributed over 900 infaq boxes throughout Ramadan 1447H/2026.

The initiative featured a range of welfare and spiritual activities aimed at supporting those in need while enhancing the spirit of Ramadan.

Contributions were channelled to Islamic education institutions, orphanages, elderly care centres, asnaf groups, persons with disabilities (PwDs), and new converts (muallaf) across Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley.

TH Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mustakim Mohamad said the annual programme, introduced in 2022, serves as a meaningful platform to encourage staff participation in charitable efforts while strengthening ties between the institution and the community.

“The Infaq Ramadan Programme is an important platform to foster a spirit of generosity and compassion, especially during this blessed month.

“Ramadan is the best time to increase acts of charity and strengthen relationships. Through this initiative, TH hopes to ease the burden of those in need while nurturing a caring and supportive society,” he said in a statement.

To further enhance community engagement, TH also organised the Semarak Ihya Ramadan Programme at its mosques and suraus, featuring daily activities such as iftar gatherings, tahlil ceremonies, tarawih prayers and moreh, all of which received strong participation from staff and the local community.

Among the highlights was the “Road to Fitrah” breaking-of-fast event held in collaboration with the Malaysian Islamic Welfare Organisation (PERKIM) at Dewan Besar TH, which was attended by 120 muallaf.

The event included the distribution of duit raya and infaq boxes, and also witnessed a non-Muslim embracing Islam.

In addition, TH organised various spiritual programmes, including the Ambang Ramadan initiative, weekly Ramadan capsules, a Khatam Quran ceremony and the TH Quran Hour, involving 913 participants from 142 tadarus groups.

These tadarus sessions began as early as Rejab 1447H under the Rejab, Syaaban and Ramadan (RSR) 2026 Programme.

Mustakim said TH remains committed to expanding such initiatives in the future as part of its role in supporting and uplifting the community as a leading Islamic institution.
