MELAKA, April 2 (Bernama) -- The Melaka Big Bad Wolf (BBW) Book Fair 2026 is offering a five per cent discount to students, educators, and civil servants with a minimum purchase of three books in conjunction with its launch today.

In a statement today, BBW said that the discount is given in support of those who play an important role in knowledge building and learning development.

Big Bad Wolf Books continues its nationwide mission to strengthen literacy by bringing the largest book sale to Melaka, thereby ensuring broader access to quality and affordable reading materials for people from all walks of life.

"It also offers millions of books at very affordable prices, starting from as low as RM3 with discounts of up to 95 per cent," said the organisation.

The statement said various initiatives have also been introduced to enhance access and engagement, including the RM5 book deal and the "Unbelievable Titles" promotion.

The launching ceremony of the Melaka BBW 2026 was officiated by Banda Hilir assemblyman Leng Chau Yen, and was also attended by the Melaka Public Library Corporation director Mohamed Aizammuddy Mohamed Idris and Melaka Tourism general manager Nasrul Ahmad.

Meanwhile, in the same statement, Big Bad Wolf Books co-founder Andrew Yap said the organisation's commitment to literacy remains the core of every book sale organised.

"We believe that affordable access to books is a fundamental right. By offering books at prices never seen before, we empower the entire community to broaden their perspectives and embrace the transformative power of reading.

"We want to ensure that all layers of society, from students to families, have the opportunity to build reading habits and expand their knowledge," he added.

The Melaka BBW 2026 runs for 11 days from April 2 to 12.
