PUTRAJAYA, April 3 (Bernama) -- Early public tip offs about the presence of foreigners suspected of immigration offences can help the Immigration Department’s enforcement actions.
Its director-general, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said accurate and continuous information was very vital to enable his department to conduct comprehensive intelligence gathering and to plan effective enforcement actions.
"This approach not only helps ensure every operation is executed as planned, but also raises the effectiveness of raids with more optimum results,” he said in a statement here today.
He assured that the identity of those who provided information would be kept fully confidential and information received would be studied before further action is taken.
Those with information are urged to contact the department at the illegal immigration hotline at 03-8880 1374, e-mail aduanpati_hq@imi.gov.my or at the public complaints management system at https://imi.spab.gov.my.
