KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 (Bernama) -- Animation has the potential to serve as a fresh and relevant medium for dakwah (religious propagation) to promote positive values to the public, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan.
He said animated content has the power to shape thinking and steer society towards positive values and behaviours.
Praising the animated film Papa Pipi by Animonsta Studios Sdn Bhd (Monsta), Zulkifli said it has been warmly received and is filled with positive messages and life lessons.
“…Monsta has now expanded into international markets like Indonesia and the Middle East. This shows that local creations have their own merit and can go far,” he said in a Facebook post tonight.
Earlier, he met with Monsta co-founder and managing director Mohd Nizam Abdul Razak, known for producing popular animated series such as BoBoiBoy, Papa Pipi (Papazola), and Mechamato.
Also present were Federal Territories Mufti Ahmad Fauwaz Fadzil and TV AlHijrah Chief Executive Officer Namanzee Harris.
Commenting on the discussion, Zulkifli said it centred on a key mission: exploring ways to collaborate in using animation to strengthen dakwah and islah (reform) in Malaysia.
