SHAH ALAM, April 5 (Bernama) -- Police have arrested a man suspected of causing the death of a security guard using a car steering lock in a residential area in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, early this morning.
Klang Utara police chief S. Vijaya Rao said that the incident, which occurred at about 1 am at a security post in the housing area, was triggered by a dispute after the suspect was reprimanded by the victim while drinking with friends during a security patrol.
“The victim, who sustained injuries from the physical assault, was rushed to Shah Alam Hospital but was pronounced dead at 4.18 am, believed to have been attacked with a blunt object.
“Acting on information, a police team from the Klang Utara district police headquarters (IPD) tracked down and arrested the suspect, and seized a car steering lock believed to have been used in the incident,” he said in a statement today.
Vijaya said checks on the suspect found that he has eight prior criminal records and two drug-related records, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
