KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 (Bernama) -- Geohan Corporation Bhd’s unit Geohan Sdn Bhd has secured two subcontract packages with a combined value of RM103 million for the New Pantai Highway Extension from IJM Construction Sdn Bhd.
Geohan is a geotechnical engineering specialist, while IJM Construction, a unit of IJM Corporation Bhd, is the turnkey contractor for the highway project.
In a statement today, Geohan managing director Lee Kim Seng said the contract wins reinforce the growing importance of infrastructure as a key growth engine for the company.
“Notwithstanding the ongoing international geopolitical uncertainties, we have continuously taken proactive measures to manage cost pressures and strive to protect our margins.
“By leveraging our relatively young and fuel-efficient machinery fleet, we are able to optimise operational efficiency while maintaining cost discipline,” he said.
He added that Geohan remains committed to fully utilising our resources, including our experienced team and modern machinery fleet, to deliver high-quality work and ensure timely project completion.
Geohan said that for the first subcontract, valued at RM27.4 million, it will undertake the hand-dug caisson piling works, along with comprehensive pile testing.
It said the second subcontract, valued at RM75.6 million, involves bored piling and reverse circulation drilling works, adding that both packages are expected to be completed within 19 months from the date of commencement.
“The new wins propelled Geohan’s total outstanding order book to approximately RM460 million, spanning residential, mixed development, infrastructure, and industrial across Peninsular Malaysia, with the infrastructure segment forming an increasingly significant portion following these two awards.
“Notably, the infrastructure segment now accounts for approximately 30 per cent of the total order book, a significant increase from 17.3 per cent as at Dec 31, 2025,” it said.
This shift reflects Geohan’s focus on higher-value public works, providing the group with enhanced earnings visibility over the next two years, it added.
