KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 (Bernama) – The Ambassador of Lebanon to Malaysia, Maher Kheir, paid a courtesy call on the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) at Wisma Bernama here today.
Upon his arrival, he was received by Bernama’s Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of News Services Mohd Shukri Ishak, and Acting Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Economic News Services Harlina Samson.
During the 45-minute meeting, both sides exchanged views on current issues and explored the potential for strengthening ties.
Kheir also expressed his intention to further expand media and communications cooperation between Lebanon (NNA Lebanon) and Malaysia (Bernama).
Lebanon, once dubbed the “Paris of the Middle East” between 1955 and 1975, remains well known as a key destination for tourism, education, culture and investment, amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in the southern part of the country.
Lebanon has a population of 5.8 million, with a diaspora of 15.4 million people worldwide due to prolonged conflict.
