Iran To Set New Regime For Strait Of Hormuz -- Senior Lawmaker

TEHRAN, April 7 (Bernama-MNA) -- A framework for determining a new regime governing the Strait of Hormuz is being prepared within the commission, as Iran is determined to intelligently control management of the strategic waterway, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.

Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament), told Mehr News Agency that the latest situation on the battlefronts against the American-Zionist enemy was reviewed during the commission’s recent meeting.

He added that commission members and parliamentarians expressed appreciation and gratitude to the armed forces for their tremendous victories, particularly in recent days in achieving aerial superiority over the enemy, and for the crushing blows they have inflicted on the enemy both inside and outside the country.

Rezaei emphasised that the armed forces’ operations will continue in the coming days, and enemies should await a decisive response from Iran’s armed forces.

He continued by stating that the review of the strategic action plan for securing the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf is on the agenda of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

Referring to the review and approval of parts of the strategic action plan for securing the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, he added that exercising the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran and establishing new arrangements and a new regime for the Strait of Hormuz are among the most important objectives of implementing this plan.

The spokesperson noted that after the review is completed by the commission, the plan will be sent to the open session of parliament.

He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to intelligently control the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
