IPOH, April 8 (Bernama) -- The implementation of the Work From Home (WFH) policy for Perak state civil servants will commence on April 15, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
He said the implementation aligns with the circular issued by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. However, the implementation will be adapted to current needs and state conditions.
"We are following the circular, and the State Secretary (SUK) has also issued a circular regarding the (WFH) start date of April 15. We discussed the same matter during the Exco meeting earlier (today).
"The SUK and the Chief Secretary to the Government are still studying the implementation methods. Although the instructions are the same from the Chief Secretary, the implementation will certainly differ according to the state," he told a press conference at the Perak Creative Fund@PORT (DKP) 2025/2026 presentation ceremony at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.
Saarani added that the state government will ensure a smooth WFH implementation by adhering to established guidelines and meeting the requirements of the state civil service.
On April 2, a circular announced that Federal Civil Service officers in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and state capitals with a one-way commute exceeding eight kilometres are eligible to WFH starting April 15.
The WFH implementation is a strategic government measure to enhance preparedness for the global energy crisis resulting from the conflict in West Asia.
