Girl, Five, Found Drowned In Retention Pond

ALOR SETAR, April 10 (Bernama) -- The body of a girl, aged five, was found in a retention pond at the Taman Nagasari People’s Housing Project near Jitra today.

Jitra Fire and Rescue Station chief, Senior Asst Fire Supt Noor Azhar Tajudin said they received  a call about the incident at 4.26 pm and a team arrived at the scene about 13 minutes later.

“Nine firefighters arrived at the scene and found the girl floating in the retention pond. 

“They retrieved the body to a secure area and she was handed over to the police for further action. Operations ended at 4.52 pm,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Kubang PAsu district police chief confirmed the incident, adding that further details will be announced at a later date.
