KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 (Bernama) -- The Defence Ministry has stressed that it will not compromise with any party involved in the incident that led to the death of Malaysian Army (TDM) personnel, Private Muhammad Amirul Raziq Rosafindi, today.
Defence Minister, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, said the ministry views the matter with utmost seriousness and assured that justice will be served in accordance with the law.
He emphasised that any form of violence, misconduct, or breach of discipline does not reflect the values, integrity, and professionalism upheld by the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).
“The case is currently in the legal process and will be determined fully by the court. The ministry will ensure that justice is upheld,” he said in a statement.
Mohamed Khaled added that the ATM has been instructed to reinforce discipline and integrity within the ranks through firm action to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
He also conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
“My deepest sympathies go to the family. May they be granted strength and resilience during this difficult time. Let us all pray that the deceased is placed among the believers and the pious,” he said.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Armed Forces Chief General Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman, along with all ATM personnel, also extended their condolences to the family.
“May the deceased be blessed and placed among the faithful, and may his family be granted strength and fortitude,” he said in a post on the ATM’s official Facebook page.
Army Chief General Datuk Azhan Md Othman and all TDM personnel likewise expressed their condolences.
The 24-year-old victim had previously been reported unconscious and was receiving intensive treatment at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital after sustaining serious injuries in an incident at the 25th Battalion Camp of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD) in Bentong.
The March 30 incident was allegedly caused by a 37-year-old corporal who acted violently following dissatisfaction with an assigned task.
