KUANTAN, April 18 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, have advised the public to remain vigilant when engaging in water activities, especially in high-risk areas such as beaches, rivers and water recreation centres.

Their Royal Highnesses also reminded the public to prioritise safety when carrying out such activities, including wearing life jackets when at sea or in open waters, and avoiding unsupervised activities or those conducted in unsafe locations.

“In addition, parents and guardians are urged to always monitor the movements and safety of their children, especially when they are near water areas, to prevent any untoward incidents,” Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah said in a post shared on the Pahang Sultanate’s Facebook page tonight.

The Sultan of Pahang and the Tengku Ampuan stressed that being cautious, remaining aware of one’s surroundings and adhering to safety measures can help reduce the risk of accidents and ultimately save lives.

Their Royal Highnesses also conveyed their condolences to the families of two students, Luqman Kamil Jamaluddin, 16, and Muhammad Fauzan Aziman Mohd Saad, 18, who were found drowned in separate incidents in Kuantan and Maran today.

Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah prayed that the souls of the deceased be placed among the righteous and expressed hope that their families would be granted ease in all matters and strength in facing the loss of their loved ones.
