Johor Gov’t Channels RM7.3 Mln For 56 Development Projects In Tangkak

JOHOR BAHRU, April 21 Bernama) -- A total of 56 development and upgrading projects in the Tangkak district have been approved for this year, involving a total allocation of RM7.3 million and the participation of various agencies, including local authorities, technical departments and state agencies.

Johor Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor said that of the total, 33 projects were agency approvals worth RM4.83 million.

He said the Tangkak District State Legislative Assembly Action Meeting (MTD), which he chaired today, also approved 25 priority projects, with an estimated cost of RM2.5 million, through allocations from the Johor Menteri Besar, Johor State ICU (Implementation Coordination Unit) and the Tangkak MTD.

“This approval focuses on critical needs, such as infrastructure repair, public facilities, houses of worship and road safety, with clear priority on disaster issues, security and social development so that its impact can be felt directly by the public,” he said.

He said this when chairing the meeting as the official representative of Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

In a related development, he said a total of 403 issues have been recorded involving the Tangkak, Serom, Gambir and Bukit Kepong state constituencies, with 67 resolved, while another 26 are being implemented, involving an allocation of about RM3.37 million.

He added that 84 issues are still under investigation, while 163 new applications are being reviewed, with an estimated cost of over RM18.1 million, reflecting the growing needs of the people.
