KUCHING, April 22 (Bernama) -- Sarawak and Japan are set to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in education, human capital development, and emerging industries, said Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia Noriyuki Shikata.
He said these matters were among those discussed during his courtesy call on Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Satria Pertiwi Complex here, today.
“Abang Johari also extended a strong and encouraging message to the Japanese business community, while inviting greater investment to the state. We look forward to returning to Sarawak and strengthening collaboration across the entire education spectrum from preschool to university level.
“Through these efforts, we aim to support the development of future-ready talent and create quality employment opportunities for Sarawakians in emerging industries and new economic models,” he told reporters after the meeting.
Shikata said Japanese company Toybox Creations and Technologies (TOY EIGHT) has partnered with SeDidik’s preschool to implement artificial intelligence (AI)-based screening of children’s cognitive development.
“This new collaboration with TOY EIGHT has the potential to become a strong model not only for Japan, but also for other Southeast Asian countries and the wider global community,” he added.
