PUTRAJAYA, April 22 (Bernama) -- The government has allocated RM150,000 for the Tuition Mission Putrajaya 2026 (TMP 2026) programme to provide free tuition classes for students from low-income families preparing for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said the programme, implemented by Putrajaya Corporation (PPj), aimed to ensure no student was left behind due to financial constraints.

She said about 150 students from nine daily secondary schools in Putrajaya would be selected this year, with classes focusing on four compulsory pass subjects, namely Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and History.

Speaking to reporters after launching the programme here today, Hannah said classes would be held physically at Kompleks Kejiranan Precinct 16 every Tuesday and Thursday from May 5 to Oct 18, involving 30 sessions.

She said 20 experienced teachers had been appointed as instructors and mentors, with special learning modules prepared for participants.

Based on the recently announced 2025 SPM results, she said the programme had delivered encouraging outcomes, with four students scoring 9As and one obtaining 8As.

"It is hoped the programme will improve students’ academic performance and better prepare them for the upcoming SPM examination," she said, adding that TMP 2026 is targeting a 100 per cent pass rate among participants.
