SEREMBAN, May 12 (Bernama) -- Industrial development in Negeri Sembilan is now entering a new phase as the state is transitioning from an assembly and support hub to a high-value manufacturing hub, said Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Sim Tze Tzin.
He said development projects, including NS Semiconductor Valley and Aerospace Valley, have transformed Negeri Sembilan from just a state that provides support to the Klang Valley to a global competitor with its own strengths.
“The federal government will work closely with the state government to ensure that the industrial sector continues to thrive, as well as helping to provide strong financing, technical expertise and access to international markets,” he told reporters at a dialogue session and working visit to Negeri Sembilan here today.
At the same time, he said, the government, through the Malaysian Industrial Development Finance (MIDF), had also channelled a cumulative RM127.18 million in funding to industries in the state.
Last year, he said, RM40.6 million was allocated to drive automation, digital transformation and the use of green technology among small and medium enterprises in Negeri Sembilan.
Sim said the transformation was also driven by a significant increase in approved investments in the state worth over RM20 billion in 2025, placing Negeri Sembilan as the sixth-highest investment destination in Malaysia.
He said the development of Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV 2.0) and the growth of industrial parks in the state would also create 22,790 job opportunities over the next five years.
Meanwhile, Sim said the West Asia conflict had no major impact on MVV 2.0 development plans, and existing investors remained optimistic about expanding investments in Malaysia.
He also said that the state’s political stability plays an important role in attracting the confidence of foreign investors, as they welcome consistent, clear policies and direction from the state government.
