Bernama Strengthens Public Understanding Of Govt Policies – Ab Rauf

MELAKA, May 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) plays a vital role in enhancing public understanding of government policies, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said.

He said Bernama is an important platform for upholding journalistic integrity, transparency and ethics in the fast-paced and increasingly challenging media and communications industry.

Ab Rauf said that in nearly six decades, Bernama has established itself as a credible media institution in delivering accurate information, inspiring the public and serving as the backbone of authentic news dissemination to the people and the nation.

"I would like to record my appreciation to all Bernama personnel for their commitment and dedication in ensuring that the people continue to receive accurate, factual and reliable information," he said in a post on his Facebook page today.

He also expressed hope that Bernama would continue to excel as a trusted, progressive and relevant national news agency amid the rapidly evolving media landscape shaped by digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

"May Bernama continue to thrive, progress and remain a respected 'voice of information' at the international level.

"My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Bernama on the occasion of its 59th anniversary, which is being celebrated today," he said.

Meanwhile, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail also expressed his appreciation to Bernama staff for their contributions and commitment to delivering information to the public and the nation.

He said that since its establishment in 1967, Bernama has played a vital role as the country's national news agency, delivering information to the people with accuracy, credibility and integrity.

"Happy 59th anniversary to Bernama. Thank you to all Bernama personnel for your contributions and commitment to journalism and the dissemination of information to the public and the nation.

"May Bernama continue to progress, remain relevant and serve as a trusted platform for news dissemination in strengthening unity, sharing beneficial information and supporting national development," he said in a Facebook post today.
