KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 (Bernama) -- Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek is committed to continuing her support for Form Six students, even though the pre-university programme will henceforth be managed by a new ministry under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

Fadhlina said that the decision was made based on the resolution that all pre-university programmes will be supervised by the MOHE.

"Perhaps this is my last speech with the Form Six students. After this, they will be handed over to the new ministry under MOHE. I will certainly miss these Form Six students who are highly dedicated and have always upheld the aspirations of national education," she said in a Facebook post today.

According to her, various initiatives have been implemented, including the establishment of the National Form Six Student Representative Committee through elections, for them to choose their own leaders, alongside the implementation of Form Six programmes in collaboration with public higher education institutions at Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

In addition, her ministry has also provided Early Schooling Aid for Form Six students and expanded the establishment of Form Six Colleges.

"An allocation of RM50,000 per year was also provided for the National Form Six Student Representative Committee," she said.

Meanwhile, she congratulated the organisers of the Penang State-Level Pre-University Congress and expressed hope that the students' voices will continue to play a role in elevating the dignity of national education.
