KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- Roda Land Sdn Bhd (Roda Land) and Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd have entered into a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing agricultural mechanisation and supporting more sustainable farming operations in Malaysia through the adoption of innovative tire and wheel solutions.

The collaboration was formalised through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Roda Land Chief Commercial Officer Lee Yap Loong and Sime Darby Industrial Business Manager & Allied Equipment (New Holland) Chua Kok Seng during a signing ceremony held on June 19.

Lee said that the collaboration represents a practical step towards helping plantation and agricultural operators address evolving operational challenges.

"As Malaysia’s agricultural sector continues to modernise, there is a growing need for technologies that can improve productivity while supporting sustainable land management," he said in a statement today.

He added that the collaboration delivers practical solutions that help customers operate more efficiently, reduce operating costs, and achieve better long-term outcomes.

Meanwhile, Chua said the partnership combined advanced agricultural machinery with specialised tire technology to deliver greater performance and reliability in the field.

"By integrating New Holland’s machinery capabilities with innovative tire solutions, we can offer customers enhanced traction, improved field mobility, and greater operational flexibility," he explained.

According to Chua, this resulted in stronger productivity and better value for agricultural operators.

The partnership integrates CEAT Flotation Tires with New Holland tractors - a solution designed to enhance field performance while minimising soil compaction, with nearly nine tractors already successfully equipped.

As part of the collaboration, Roda Land has also developed customised rim solutions to ensure optimal compatibility and maximise tire performance without requiring major modifications to existing machinery setups.

Beyond product integration, the MOU also establishes a framework for technical collaboration, field performance monitoring, product evaluation, and knowledge sharing on agricultural mechanisation and long-term food security in Malaysia.
