KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is continuing to strengthen the national women's football ecosystem by focusing on team management and administration development by organising FIFA’s Capacity-Building For Administrators 2026 programme.

The programme also forms part of FAM's efforts to ensure that the development of women's football in the country is not solely focused on technical aspects on the field, but also encompasses the strengthening of support structures off the field.

“Throughout the programme, which is conducted by two FIFA Women’s Football Development Experts, Safia Abdeldayem and Pema Choden Tshering, participants will be exposed to various modules related to women's football management, including Women’s Leadership, Women’s Competition, Club and Players’ Rights, and Strategic Planning.

“These modules aim to empower leadership, enhance understanding of competition structures, the management of players’ and clubs’ rights, as well as help participants develop more effective strategic planning for the advancement of their respective teams,” FAM posted on Facebook today.

The four-day programme, which begins today, is organised in collaboration with FIFA to enhance professionalism among women's team managers and team administrative officers.

FAM secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman, FIFA Women's National Team Competitions Committee member and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Football Committee member Datuk Suraya Yaacob, as well as FAM Women's Football Technical Director Soleen Al-Zoubi were among those present today.

FAM also stated that the development of more skilled individuals in management and administration was crucial to ensure the continued growth of the sport.

“FAM believes that increasing the number of team managers, administrators and women leaders in the football industry will help create a stronger, more professional and sustainable ecosystem for the future of women’s football in the country.

“Through the organisation of FIFA Capacity-Building For Administrators 2026, FAM remains committed to expanding opportunities, empowering the role of women in football and supporting FIFA’s efforts to develop women’s football worldwide,” it said.
