IPOH, July 4 (Bernama) -- As July arrives, synonymous with the durian season, the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) in Kuala Kangsar has launched the Duriotourism @ MARDI Kuala Kangsar package, scheduled from July 9-29.
In a Facebook post, MARDI announced that durian enthusiasts can visit Duriotourism @ MARDI Kuala Kangsar to enjoy premium durians cultivated from the institute's research.
It said the package includes activities such as tram rides to explore the scenic MARDI Kuala Kangsar durian plantation and indulging in fresh durians. Visitors can also purchase fresh durians, durian packs, and ‘tempoyak’ (fermented durian pulp).
“The Duriotourism package and durian sales are limited to specified dates. The Duriotourism package is divided into two sessions: morning sessions from 10 am to noon and afternoon sessions from 4 pm to 6 pm,” read the post.
The Duriotourism package tickets are available via booking through the link: https://wa.me/message/, while purchases of fresh fruits and related products are exclusively available via walk-in at the MARDI Kuala Kangsar lobby area.
MARDI has also shared the Durian Tourism Packages for the 2024/2025 year, introduced by Tourism Malaysia on June 27, accessible through www.malaysia.travel/storage/files/pdf/Durian-Tourism-Packages-2024.pdf.
