KUANTAN, July 5 (Bernama) -- Visitors to the MADANI Rakyat Programme for the eastern zone, which kicked off today, will get the chance to take a 500-metre cruise along Sungai Kuantan by answering simple questions about the Civil Defence Force (APM).
Kuantan district APM officer PA Zahidi Zainudin said visitors can attempt to answer the questions at APM’s booth from 9 am to 5 pm, throughout the three-day event.
“They just need to answer questions about APM and will be given a coupon to ride the APM’s boat, which will be an interesting experience for those who attend the MADANI Rakyat programme for the eastern zone,” he told Bernama today.
He said the activity, which is open to all, aims to increase public knowledge about APM while giving visitors the experience of seeing Sungai Kuantan up close.
According to Zahidi, aluminium and rigid inflatable boats will be used for this purpose.
Held at Dataran Sayangi Kuantan, the programme is a continuation of the MADANI Government First Anniversary initiative, which is expanded to the state level according to zones to allow the locals to understand and evaluate new policies and initiatives implemented by the federal government in efforts to improve people’s well-being.
The MADANI Rakyat programme for the eastern zone is hosted by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Project Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development and the Pahang state government.
