MOSCOW, July 15 (Bernama-Sputnik) -- Syrians will go to the polls on Monday to elect members of the 250-seat parliament for a four-year term, reported Sputnik.
President Bashar Assad’s Baath party holds a majority in the legislature and is seen as a frontrunner in the parliamentary race.
This will be the fourth parliamentary poll since a conflict erupted in the Arab country in 2011.
The elections will take place only in the territories controlled by the Syrian government. About a third of the country is still held by insurgents and groups designated as terrorist organisations.
