LABUAN, July 19 (Bernama) -- Labuan intends to contribute at least eight gold medals to boost the Federal Territories contingent's bid to emerge as overall champions.

Federal Territories contingent deputy chef de mission Fadzilah Mahmud said the 45-strong Labuan contingent will compete in various events, including women’s rugby, petanque, lawn bowls, wushu, karate, silat, e-sports, table tennis and men's beach volleyball.

He is confident that Labuan athletes can contribute significantly to the Federal Territories’ target of 70 gold medals in their mission to become the overall champions at the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Sarawak from Aug 17-24.

"We are targeting three gold medals in petanque, two in lawn bowls, and one each in wushu, table tennis and men's beach volleyball,”  he told Bernama today.
