PERAK SSI ALLOCATES RM8. 5 MILLION A YEAR FOR CSR PROGRAMMES

KUALA KANGSAR, July 20 (Bernama) -- The Perak State Secretary Incorporation (SSI) has implemented various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes to help the needy over the past four years.

Its acting chief executive officer, Zulkefli Abdullah said SSI is allocated RM8.5 million per year, including from the state government,  for the purpose, where various programmes are organised for the benefit of the people in the state.

He said the programmes included providing boats to the Sungai Tiang Orang Asli Village in Gerik for use by residents to send their children to school.

“SSI also provides allocations to the state government for the implementation of the Cikgu Saarani Tuition (TCS) programme as well as animals for Aidiladha sacrifice and donations to local non-governmental organisations or associations to organise community-based programmes," he said

He said this when met by reporters after the SSI CSR programme which was officiated by State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun at Dataran Tepi Sungai, Victoria Bridge here today.

Zulkefli said SSI allocated about RM20,000 for the purchase of three boats and engines to be given to eligible coastal fishermen in the Lintang state constituency here.

"This is the first time SSI is providing such assistance for fishermen,  he said
