LABUAN, July 23 (Bernama) -- Financial technology solutions developer Neurogine Sdn Bhd has launched its flagship product, Neurogine n2Tap, and it is the first Malaysian mobile payment software certified by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

The company said Neurogine n2Tap has met the stringent mobile payment security standards set by PCI Mobile Payments on Commercial off-the-shelf (MPoC) and has become the tenth product recognised by the council since its inception in November 2022.

Chief executive officer Owen Chen Chee Onn said PCI SSC recognition for Neurogine n2Tap is a testament to the product’s quality and reliability as a homegrown Malaysian innovation.

“With the globally recognised PCI MPoC Software standard, Neurogine n2Tap ensures secure transactions and payments on various mobile devices.

“The certification affirms that Neurogine n2Tap meets the highest benchmarks in security, interoperability, and functionality requirements,” he told Bernama today.

Chen explained that transactions processed through Neurogine n2Tap followed robust security protocols and minimised fraud risks.

“The software offers seamless operations with a wide array of mobile wallets and payment terminals, regardless of location or mobile network operator,” he said.

He said this certification would bolster wider adoption by merchants and consumers worldwide.

Chen also pointed out that Neurogine n2Tap’s development was completed early last year, but the MPoC Software certification involved several more months of meticulous work, culminating in the announcement by PCI SSC in mid-July.

“The company is now preparing to roll out Neurogine n2Tap across the Asia-Pacific region, targeting banks, financial institutions, service providers, governments, and educational institutions to empower them to interact and transact with their target audiences on a wide range of mobile devices.

“We are actively exploring customisation options for Neurogine n2Tap to suit the needs of various banks and government agencies in Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia,” he shared.

Chen also attributed the product’s success to the company’s participation in the Founders Centre of Excellence programme, an initiative by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation designed to propel high-potential Malaysian technology companies to new heights of innovation and market presence.

“The programme has provided invaluable support and resources, enabling Neurogine to tailor its solutions and broaden its impact across the region,” he added.
