PARIS OLYMPICS: FIRST STEP TOWARDS UAE’S NATIONAL SPORTS STRATEGY 2031 GOALS, SAYS MINISTER

PARIS, July 29 (Bernama-UAE) -- United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Sports, Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi has affirmed that the UAE's participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics marks a significant step towards achieving the objectives of the National Sports Strategy 2031.

The strategy aims to qualify over 30 athletes for the Olympic Games by focusing on talent development and creating success stories for the UAE.

He emphasised the importance of providing the necessary support for elite athletes, sports federations, and school sports, highlighting the foundational role these elements play in nurturing future champions, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

“The athletes representing the UAE in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games are exemplary ambassadors for our nation, competing honourably at the highest levels with their peers from around the world.

“They present a commendable image of Emirati youth, embodying the Olympic spirit of peace and coexistence,” the minister said.

Al Falasi noted that the UAE delegation has the ambition and passion to achieve the Olympic dream by securing the UAE's third Olympic gold medal.

He added that every Emirati Olympian is committed to delivering outstanding performances and achieving the best results, reflecting the growth of the country's sports sector and enhancing its presence on the global sports map.
