HEAT WAVE IN FRANCE TRIGGERS ORANGE ALERT IN 41 DEPARTMENTS

ANKARA, July 30 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The French Meteorological Service, Meteo France, on Monday issued orange alert for 41 departments in the southern and central regions over ongoing heat wave.

Extreme heat continue to affect France which is hosting Paris Olympics, first time in 100 years.

Meteo France issued orange alert for 41 departments, located in central and southern France, fearing increase in the number to 45 with Indre, Nievre, Saone-et-Loire, and Jura regions, according to Anadolu Agency.

Temperatures are expected to range between 35C (95F) and 38C (100F) at the beginning of the week and are predicted to persist until July 31.

Weather forecasts suggest that Europe is experiencing its hottest summer yet.

The impact of these conditions on the Olympic Games in Paris, which will continue until August 11, has been a topic of concern.
