LACK OF CONFIDENCE, FOCUS STILL PLAGUING PERAK FC

IPOH, July 31 (Bernama) -- Loss of focus and a lack of self-confidence are the main reasons Perak FC failed to garner their first victory after three Super League games at home at Perak Stadium.

Perak FC manager Yusri Che Lah said this kind of 'disease' is difficult to treat unless the players themselves change and improve their performance to ensure The Bos Gaurus return to winning ways.

"For example, in tonight's game, you can see that we played very well in the first half and managed to penetrate the opponent's goal. However, the momentum could not sustain in the second half of the game as the players seemed to have no desire to win.

"What I see is that the lack of confidence as one of the reasons why our performance fluctuates in the league competition. To raise (self-confidence) is not an easy thing but it is not impossible if the players have the determination to change," he said when met at the Perak Stadium here.

In last night's match, Perak FC failed to use the opportunity when they lost 1-2 to Kuching City FC thanks to goals by Jordan Mintah in the 69th minute and Tchetche Kipre in the 76th minute while Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor scored the home team's consolation goal in the seventh minute.

After going through seven games The Bos Gaurus are now occupying the ninth place in the league with six points while Kuching City is in fourth position with 10 points.

In addition, Yusri said there is still a lot of 'homework' to be done, especially since the next opponent is  the league leader, Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).

Meanwhile, Kuching City FC manager Aidil Sharin Sahak showered praises on his players after managing to win despite falling behind at one point.

He added that the inclusion of Namibian-born import player Petrus Shitembi also helped a lot and managed to disrupt Perak's defence in the match.

"Overall, both teams showed an entertaining match, but after the entry of Petrus in the second half, we saw the advantage to win," he said.
