KOTA KINABALU, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) is now expanding the implementation of e-Invoice to Sabah, in a continuous effort to strengthen the government’s national agenda.

Its chief executive officer, Datuk Dr Abu Tariq Jamaluddin said the board understood the transition to the e-Invoice system was a big challenge especially to small and medium businesses in Sabah and was committed and ready to assist in terms of technical support and direct guidance to resolve any issues during its implementation.

“I urge all parties to work together with IRB so that the government’s aim to build a dynamic economic environment and business digitalisation evolution is achieved,” he said in a statement here today.

He also said that an e-Invoice seminar was held today with almost 1,500 participants from tax practitioners, professional bodies, micro, small and medium entrepreneurs who have and will be implementing e-Invoices.

The seminar was organised by the IRB with the assistance of the Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) and the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) and opens two-way communication between the IRB and industry players at various levels.

“This is IRB’s main agenda to open communications through feedback and suggestions relating to the e-Invoice implementation to raise our service quality as an implementing agency,” he added.
