GUA MUSANG, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taman Agropolitan, Rantau Manis, here which is currently under construction, is expected to be completed by January 2025, said Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
He said the project which began on July 27, 2022 is now 40 per cent complete and is in the process of installing the Industrialised Building System (IBS) structure for the main school building.
"I hope that when this school opens, which is planned for March 2025, this school can be used immediately. The new (schooling) year starts with a new school," he said when inspecting the project today.
Ahmad said the RM26.56 million Education Ministry project is being developed on a 7.285-hectare area with a project site for school construction of 3.9 hectares.
Among the project scope is to build a main block containing 18 classrooms, as well as additional blocks such as pre-school, canteen, guardhouse, rubbish house, stage, flagpoles, bicycle shed, car park, covered walkway and bus waiting shelter.
Ahmad said the project, which can accommodate between 400 and 720 students, also includes sports facilities such as netball, volleyball and badminton courts.
He said the project was the Unity Government's commitment to improving the quality of education for the people through the provision of conducive and comfortable learning facilities for students around Rantau Manis.
"This new school will help students who previously had to travel long distances to SK Jeram Tekoh or SK Renok Baru early in the morning.
"Recently I visited Jeram Tekoh and while having breakfast I saw a double-decker bus full of students. After this, that problem will no longer exist," he said.
Therefore, he said the Works Ministry wanted the momentum of the project to be maintained and completed on schedule while meeting the set quality and cost.
